World Sight Day (WSD) is a day of bringing awareness and focus global attention on blindness and vision impairment. It is coordinated by the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness under the VISION 2020 Global Initiative. It is supported by eye health organizations around the world – including Optometry Giving Sight.
How can you help?
The World Sight Day Challenge is coordinated by Optometry Giving Sight designed to raise funds for projects that provide training, establish vision centres and deliver eye care services for people who are blind or vision impaired due to the need for an eye exam and glasses. This year the focus will be on Our Children’s Vision, an initiative to come together to ensure that every child, everywhere has access to the eye care they need regardless of their economic status or geographical location.
Optometry Giving Sight is a global partner in Our Children’s Vision. At EyedeologyTM, we support Optometry Giving Sight by collecting donations in office at matching donations made one to one. If you are interested in helping us raise funds for this wonderful cause come by our office and make a donation to this great cause. Every dollar collected goesalong way.
Help us deliver eyewear to those in need by donating your old pairs of glasses to our office. These pairs go to the Lions Club and get re-distributed to those who are less privileged.
Make a difference by purchasing a pair of Toms Eyewear – One for One. TOMS Eyewear purchases provide a person in need with a full eye exam by trained medical professionals. Each patient then receives the treatment he or she needs. To date, Toms has helped restore four hundred thousand people in need.
Let this day serve as a sweet reminder of how grateful we are for our sight and having access to eye care. Together we are stronger – You can do your part – Come by to EyedeologyTM to help save sight.
