Dr. Jessica Yang, OD is a proud Calgarian and completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Calgary. She then pursued her passion for optometry and earned her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Waterloo. During her final year of training, Dr. Jessica completed an ocular disease externship at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Muskogee, Oklahoma, where she worked with an incredible team of optometrists and specialists. This experience fostered her interest in ocular disease, and she gained valuable knowledge about the treatment and management of glaucoma, macular degeneration, dry eye disease and diabetic retinopathy.
Dr. Jessica has a special interest in the management of dry eye disease and understands the importance of using a multifaceted approach to treat this complex condition. This includes using the latest technology to provide in-office treatments, discussion on ocular nutrition and at-home therapy to successfully treat patients with dry eyes. Dr. Jessica is also interested in specialty contact lenses such as orthokeratology, multifocal, hybrid, and scleral contact lenses which can help provide improvement in comfort and vision not offered by glasses alone.

Dr. Jessica is passionate about providing eye care to patients of all ages and giving back to the community. Pediatric care and myopia management are areas of particular interest and she is happy to help educate parents and children on how to slow down the progression of nearsightedness during childhood. Dr. Jessica also has additional training in fitting contact lenses for young children. She has even been on optometry mission trips overseas. Dr. Jessica has visited Peru and Mexico to volunteer her eye care services to the under-privileged and is looking forward to her next trip.
Having good vision is about more than being able to see clearly, and taking care of our visual health can enhance our sense of well-being and overall quality of life. Dr. Jessica strongly believes in providing personalized eye care with an emphasis on education and prevention. She is thrilled to be a part of the amazing team at Eyedeology and to share her passion for ocular health and vision.
Dr. Jessica is an active member of the Canadian Association of Optometrists, the Alberta Association of Optometrists and the Calgary Society of Optometrists. She is happy to provide eye examinations in English and Cantonese. During her spare time, Dr. Jessica enjoys hiking, baking and learning new languages.
