Through our holistic approach to caring for you and our dedication to learning, we pioneer carefully researched new treatments, technology, and products to help ensure eye health. Eyedeology is committed to providing you great quality lenses to help you see with clarity and comfort based on your vision needs and lifestyle.
We carry digital lenses, progressives, office lenses (for those who work with computer screens for long hours), drivesafe lenses (for those having difficulty with dim lighting or glare from headlights), blue light protection to help with eye strain and fatigue, as well as sports and safety eyewear. Our optometrists will review these options during your annual eye exam; you can also book a complimentary glasses consultation with our opticians.
Myopia Lens Options
The Miyosmart lenses are a new spectacle lens designed by Hoya to help slow down the progression of myopia. This myopia control lens uses a breakthrough technology called D.I.M.S (Defocus Incorporated Multiple Segments) where the central portion of the lens contains the full glasses prescription allowing for clear vision and the periphery is surrounded by several defocus segments. These segments alter the peripheral focus of light along the back of the eye in such a way that it signals to the eye to slow down its growth.
Based on a 2-year clinical trial published in the British Journal of Ophthalmology, the Miyosmart lens was shown to reduce both myopia progression and axial length (length of the eyeball) by 60% compared to children wearing single vision glasses lenses.
Kids Need UV Protection
80% of UV damage to the eyes occurs before the age of 18 simply because children tend to spend significantly more time outdoors. Children are more susceptible to retinal damage from UV rays because the lens inside a child’s eye is clearer than an adult lens, enabling more UV to penetrate deep into the eye.
We recommend your child’s eyes be protected from the sun with good quality sunglasses or Transitions lenses, in addition to wearing a hat and sunscreen to further reduce UV exposure.
FogBlockers are your cost-effective, instant solution to prevent your glasses from fogging up. It is a microfiber cloth that is safe to use on any type of lenses, including coated lenses, goggles and safety glasses. Simply wipe your clean lenses with either a dry cloth (that can be used up to 500 times!) or a wet cloth (which comes in 30 single-use packets). It will not leave streaks on your glasses and it provides up to 48-72 hours of anti-fogging capability.
