September is Healthy Aging Month

It’s healthy aging month! Aging is a fact of life but we all want to do so gracefully while maintaining good health. The delicate skin around the eyes can be the first to show signs of aging. UV radiation from the sun can account for about 80% of facial aging so protection with a good quality pair of sunglasses and suncreen is extremely important and should be a part of everyone’s skin care routine. If you are concerned about more fine lines, wrinkles or dark cirlces around the eyes come in and learn more about the amazing anti-aging skin care line that we carry exclusively at our office! Like any other organ in your body, your eyes do not stay the same as you age. Vision changes are normal with age but vision loss and blindness are not. Older adults are at higher risk for certain eye diseases and conditions, including age-related macular degeneration, cataract, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, dry eye, and low vision. To continue to enjoy healthy vision as you advance in years, it’s important to have a comprehensive eye examination on a regular basis. You can’t stop time, but you can take care of your eyes starting in infancy so that they remain healthy as you age. Having a healthy vision can be possible at any age!
