Dr. Emma Wen grew up in Calgary, Alberta and received her Bachelor of Science with a minor in sociology from McGill University. During her time in Montreal, Dr. Wen started exploring the art of stand-up comedy, which she still enjoys to this day. She attended Pacific University in beautiful Oregon for optometry school. During her last year of optometry school, Dr. Wen received six months of intensive training in ocular disease from experts at Bascom Palmer of Florida, the #1 eye hospital in the United States. There, she learned from the best in treating diseases of the retina, neuro-ophthalmology, and cornea. After graduating as an optometrist, Dr. Wen practiced for four years in Dawson Creek, BC, where she had the opportunity to treat and long-distance co-manage patients with a wide range of diseases in a remote setting with no ophthalmologists. She prides herself in giving thorough eye exams and ensuring all patient needs are addressed. Dr. Wen is excited to join the Eyedeology team and has special interest in advanced dry eye treatments, myopia control, specialty contact lenses and ocular disease.
